Here is the transcription of my most recent video blog:

(And here’s the audio on AnchorFM)

Hey everybody, it’s Queen Mab, and I’m just going to do a little check-in here about my daily vlogging experiment. So far I’m actually really enjoying the process of creating these videos and even transcribing them for my website. That part is strangely really enjoyable for me. It’s fun just to get to sit here and talk about the things that are on my mind, and I’m even getting some really cool comments from people…not as much on YouTube…mostly on Facebook, and a little bit on Instagram…but even the folks on YouTube have been great, so thank you.

The hard part for me about doing this is actually just the posting, which I’m sure sounds weird, but it’s like…okay, so I transcribe it. And I have to post it on my website, and I post it on YouTube, and I post the audio on AnchorFM (I don’t think anyone is listening on AnchorFM, but whatever! It’s there if people ever decide they want it, okay). And then I have to go put it on Facebook, but when I’m on Facebook, I get distracted by like, you know, all these other things that other people are posting, and I have to reply to all my comments, and I have to “like” other people’s things…oh, wait! Yeah, I’m supposed to post. Okay. BOOP! Great.

Oh, now I gotta go to Instagram…ugghh! Okay, so I’m on Instagram. Gotta change my link in bio…DOOT! All right, cool. Gotta come up with a picture. Okay, gotta write about it…okay, gotta do the accessibility part, where I describe whatever the picture is…okay, now I gotta do like, a million hashtags! PSHEW! Okay, that’s done. Okay. PHEW! Oh, wait a second…TikTok! I was gonna do something on TikTok! AGHHH!! Okay? And…and…it takes so long. And there are so many opportunities for distraction. I mean, even when I log into YouTube, I’m always like, “Ooh, there’s a video I wanna watch…there’s a video I wanna watch!”

“Oh, but you’re here to post your video.”

“Oh, but I gotta watch that!” It’s…it’s really a struggle.

And then all day long, I’m wanting to look at my phone and say, “Ooh, did people like? Ooh, did anybody comment?” Oh, my God! So…that’s the hard part. It’s not the actual vlogging part. And it’s interesting to me to see that this is my challenge. So I’d really like to hear from you, especially if you’re a person who identifies as ADHD or autistic or neurodivergent or you know, even neurotypical folks. If you’re someone who does a lot of social media stuff, how do you manage it? How do you maintain your focus? How do you keep your sanity while simultaneously trying to promote content on a variety of different platforms? I’d love to hear your wisdom. Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and I’ll see you next time. Bye.
