Hey friends, it’s Catherine Barnes, and it is the day after Hi-Desert Fringe [May 15, 2022], and I am still really tired, but wow! It was a ton of fun, and I did my show with my sound cues on my phone, and no other tech – and it worked! I got a lot of great feedback after the show. There was one audience member who said she couldn’t hear me as well while I was singing, but I think that was probably more of a balance issue than it was the tech not working, so I’m pretty happy about that. I didn’t really get any feedback about whether or not people were clear on what characters I was playing, but you know, again…people seemed happy, so I’m gonna call this a win. Hooray!

My favorite thing that I saw at Hi-Desert Fringe was this gal who was a ballerina, and she did a duet with a garbage pail. Garbage bin, I should say. Her name is Jenn Henry, and I will post a link to that. That was so funny, and so brilliant. And there was a lot of other really great stuff, too…a lot of poetry…some stand-up comedy…it was fun. I’m really glad that I went, and now I feel like I’m in a good place for San Diego Fringe.

So speaking of San Diego Fringe [get tickets here], I will post all of those dates below as well [June 4 at 9pm, June 5 at 4pm, June 7 at 6pm, June 10 at 7:30pm, and June 12 at 6pm]. My opening night show is June 4 at 9pm, and all of these shows are taking place at the Centro Cultural de la Raza in Balboa Park. So I hope to see some of you there. What else do I have to tell you about?

Oh – gonna throw out a real quick tip, and that is – if you are ever in a situation like I was last night where you need to run sound cues for yourself off of your phone, and you have an iPhone – I recommend that you drag and drop all of your sound files onto your iPhone as files, and don’t use iTunes. Because if you do it through iTunes, there is this annoying autoplay thing that it’s impossible to turn off, and it’s just a huge pain in the butt, so – no iTunes files, and it will work well.

I’m trying to think if there’s anything else I have to tell you. I’m so tired. I think that’s all for now. Anyways – thank you so much for tuning in. If you want to know more about who I am and what I do, you can visit queenmabmusic.com. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe – although I doubt anyone will after this video, ‘cuz it’s kind of boring – and I’ll see you next time. Bye.

No show tech? No problem!
